With Northeast Monsoon making onset over Peninsular India, rain activity has intensified over Tamil Nadu and Kerala. During last 24 hours, moderate to heavy rains have been recorded over several parts of states.
According to Skymet Meteorology Division in India, low pressure area over Southwest Bay of Bengal off the Sri Lanka coast has kept the Monsoon surge active over the region.
With system sustaining its strength, we expect good weather activity to continue over these states for next 24 to 48 hours.
Till now, intensity of rain has been more on the coastal areas. However, as the prevailing low pressure area is moves in east direction, rain belt will cover interior parts as well.
Let us have a look at the rainfall figures recorded across Kerala and Karnataka in span of last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Wednesday.
