The city of Indore has been witnessing rains on a continuous basis since the beginning of September. Moreover, there has not been any dry spell over the city of Indore since the month began.
Meanwhile, rains have increased over Indore since the last five days. During last 24 hours also, Indore saw heavy showers of 67 mm.
Now, Southwest Monsoon is still active over western parts of Madhya Pradesh. Thus, more showers are expected to continue over West Madhya Pradesh including Indore for at least next 48 hours. Thereafter, intensity of rains may decrease but on and off rains will continue until September 16.
These rains have been occurring in view of the Low Pressure which had been hanging around over Madhya Pradesh for quite some time now. Now also, the system has slightly moved eastwards and continues to persist over South Uttar Pradesh.
Heavy rains have thrown life out of gear in the state of Madhya Pradesh with flooding conditions continuing in many areas. Moreover, schools in Vidisha and other parts have been declared closed in view of flooding conditions with red alert being issued for many parts today.
