Heavy rain in Uttar Pradesh, parts of Bihar to continue

The states of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar have been witnessing moderate to heavy rainfall activity for the past two to three days.

The last 24 hours also have been rainy enough for the states with a few heavy showers during the same time frame. Rain intensity has been higher over Uttar Pradesh while lighter over Bihar.

During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday, Bareilly saw a whopping 73 mm of rains, Bahraich 48 mm, Najibabad 66 mm, Hamirpur 50 mm, Kanpur 28 mm, Chapra 16 mm, Muzaffarpur 3 mm.

As the axis of Monsoon trough is passing across Central parts of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, Monsoon is expected to remain active over these two states. Moderate to heavy rain and thundershowers are expected over many parts of these states during the next two to three days. Flooding conditions may also be seen in some parts.

Cities of Muzaffarnagar, Bareilly, Bahraich, Lucknow, Kanpur, Unnao, Sultanpur, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Patna, Buxar, Champaran, Gaya, Aurangabad are expected to see heavy rains.

Significant fall in temperatures is expected with maximums settling between 28 and 30 degrees Celsius while the minimums will remain around 25 and 26 degrees.

After two to three days, rainfall activity is expected to reduce from these states and temperatures may increase.
