The state of Gujarat has seen a deficient monsoon so far with rainfall being on the lighter side most of the days. This is due to the absence of any system formation over the Arabian Sea which is usually responsible for heavy rainfall activity over the Gujarat coast as well as interior parts of the state.
However, Gujarat is heading for heavy spells of rains for the next 48 hours due to a system which formed in the Bay of Bengal. This system intensified into a low pressure area and has now become even stronger becoming a well Naga low pressure area.
The system is expected to move West Northwest wards bringing the heavy rainfall belt from Maharashtra region 2 to the Gujarat region. Today isolated heavy spells of rain may be seen over the state mainly over the coastal parts.
Tomorrow and day after tomorrow i.e. September 8th and 9th, rainfall belt is expected to cover the entire state of Gujarat and many parts of the state are expected to see heavy to very heavy rainfall activities.
While these rainfall activities may cause some trouble, the possibility of the reduction of rainfall deficiency is quite likely due to this upcoming spell.
