Due to the depression over Madhya Pradesh, northern and eastern parts of the state received heavy to very heavy rains during the last 24 hours. However, widespread moderate rains were witnessed over rest all parts.

In the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Friday, Umaria recorded 160 mm of rain, followed by Guna 111 mm, Sheopur 110 mm, Tikamgarh 83 mm, Datia 58 mm and Khajuraho 49 mm.

At present, the well-marked low-pressure area lies over North Madhya Pradesh and the axis of Monsoon trough also passes across parts of Madhya Pradesh.

Rainfall activity is likely to decrease significantly over eastern and adjoining central parts of the state. Meanwhile, moderate to heavy rains will continue in northern and western districts of Madhya Pradesh.

Places such as Ratlam, Raigarh, Guna, Sheopur, Shivpuri, Ujjain and Dhar will continue with moderate to heavy rains during the next 12 hours.

Scattered light rains are also likely over Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur and adjoining areas. Light rain spell will continue over northwestern parts of the state. After 24 hours also, we expect light rains to continue over the northwest parts of Madhya Pradesh.
