The state of Chhattisgarh has been seeing good rainfall activity for quite some time now. In fact, some areas have also witnessed heavy rains.
Moreover, during last 24 hours, Chhattisgarh received heavy rains with some parts witnessing very heavy showers as well.
During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, Mana recorded 80 mm of rains, and Durg saw 74 mm of rainfall.
These rains are attributed to the low pressure over Bay which has now become a well marked low pressure area and is over Northwest Bay adjoining Odisha and West Bengal. The system is further expected to move inland.
As per weathermen, heavy to very heavy rains are expected to occur over the state of Chhattisgarh during the next 24 to 48 hours.
Cities of Mana, Jagdalpur, Bastar, Bijapur, Dantewada, Rajnandgaon, Raipur. Gradually, Korba, Durg and Bilaspur will also get rains.
At present, the state of Chhattisgarh has been seeing rainfall deficiency at -3 percent. However, in no time, these rain figures will become positive. Chhattisgarh is one of those states in Central India which gets rains due to weather systems forming in West Central Bay or Northwest Bay of Bengal.
These weather systems while moving in a west or northwest direction become instrumental in giving rainfall over Chhattisgarh which is the case at present.
Now, another system is likely to form in Northwest Bay of Bengal around August 31 which will once again give rainfall over the state of Chhattisgarh. Therefore, the state will not go dry for at least one week.
