Heavy rain in Patna, Gaya, Chapra to continue

Heavy Monsoon rains have been lashing parts of Bihar with its capital city Patna recording very heavy rains during the last 24 hours. In fact, other adjoining areas of the state have witnessed moderate to heavy rainfall during the same time frame.

In the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday, Patna recorded a whopping 132 mm of rainfall, while Chapra saw 65 mm of rainfall. Rains were very intense over Gaya as well where a massive 85 mm of rains were witnessed.

Currently, a cyclonic circulation lies over eastern parts of Bihar and adjoining areas. This system is expected to intensify during next 48 hours. The axis of Monsoon trough is also passing across central parts of the state. Due to these weather systems, warm and moist winds continue to blow over the state.

Now, as per weathermen at Skymet Weather, during next 24 hours, moderate rains are likely over many parts of Bihar. After 24 hours, rains will increase, and heavy showers are expected.

Flooding conditions may occur over some parts of Bihar during the next few days as rainfall activity will continue to be on the rise.

Rains are likely to remain heavy in Buxar, Chapra, Gopalganj, Patna, Gaya, Aurangabad, Nawada, Bhagalpur, Kishanganj, Muzaffarpur, Champaran, Madhubani etc.
