Since last few days, the axis of Monsoon trough is running close to the foothills. Therefore, moderate to heavy rains have occurred over most parts of Nepal.

In the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Sunday, Okhaldhunga in Nepal recorded 56 mm of rain, Surket 46 mm, Kathmandu  44 mm, Simra 36 mm, Pokhara 26 mm, Dang 25 mm, Dadeldhura 13 mm, Dhangadhi 11 mm.

Now also we expect, moderate to heavy rains to continue for at least next 24 hours. Thereafter, rain intensity will decrease, but scattered rains will still continue over many parts of Nepal.

Whenever there are heavy rains over Nepal, its affect is being felt over foothills of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar in terms of flooding because most of rivers flows towards Uttar Pradesh and Bihar are from Nepal.

Situation is also expected to become worse because Uttar Pradesh and Bihar are also receiving moderate to heavy showers, but due to decreased rain intensity during the next 24 hours, situation is expected to gradually improve.

Furthermore, as the axis of Monsoon will gradually shift southwards, thus rainfall activity will be seen decreasing over many parts, which may also improve the flooding conditions over Nepal.
