As predicted by Skymet Weather, very heavy rains occurred over few eastern parts of Rajasthan. While Sawai Madhopur especially has been receiving heavy rainfall activity since the last few days. In fact, this city has already crossed its monthly average rainfall and has received 443 mm of rain till now.
In the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Friday, Sawai Madhopur recorded 61 m of rain, followed by Kota 52 mm, Bundi 21 mm, Udaipur and Jaipur 15 mm, Chittorgarh 11 mm and Bhilwara 6 mm.
At present, the depression has weakened into a well-marked low pressure are and lies over North Madhya Pradesh. This system would further move in the westerly direction and weaken gradually. The upper air trough is also seen tilting southwestwards.
Due to these weather systems, rainfall activity will continue during the next 24 hours, moderate to heavy rains will occur over many parts of East Rajasthan.
Extremely heavy rains may also occur over few pockets close to southeastern parts of Rajasthan.
Places such as Jaipur, Kota, Sawai Madhopur, Udaipur and Chittorgarh are expected to observe heavy rains. Moreover, very heavy rains are likely over Mount Abu and near the Udaipur range. Isolated light rains may also occur over extreme western parts of the state.
Talking about the temperatures, due to these heavy rains, day temperatures are expected to drop significantly over most parts of Rajasthan. Further we expect rainfall activity to reduce significantly after the next 24 hours.
