The Western Disturbance as an upper air system lies over northern parts of Jammu and Kashmir and adjoining region. This system is also likely to move east/northeastwards. The axis of Monsoon trough is currently passing across northern parts of Haryana.

Since moisture incursion is taking places from the Western Disturbance as well as Bay of Bengal over to Uttarakhand. Therefore, we expect moderate to heavy rainfall activity over many places with very heavy rain in isolated places of Uttarakhand to continue for the next 24-48 hours.

The eastern parts of Uttarakhand will receive more rains as compared to the western parts of the state. Places such as Bageshwar, Pithoragarh, Almora, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Champawat, Kedarnath, Badrinath, Pauri are likely to witness heavy rains during the next 48 hours.

Thereafter, rain intensity is likely to decrease gradually, as another low-pressure is expected to form over Bihar region.

Due to these heavy rainfall activities, landslides are also expected in many parts of the state. Thus, we can say that the residents of Uttarakhand along with the tourists will be facing major inconvenient during the coming days.
