Heavy rains occurred over Coastal Odisha, as Puri recorded 70 mm of rain during the last 24 hours. Rest parts of Odisha and Chhattisgarh moderate to heavy rainfall activity.
In the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Saturday, Pradip recorded 67 mm of rain, followed by Durg 68 mm, Gopalpur 66 mm, Bhubaneshwar 48 mm, Titlagarh 54 mm.

At present, the well-marked low pressure lies over North Coastal Odisha and adjoining region. This system would be moving west/northwestwards.
Due to the presence of this system, heavy to very heavy rain is likely over many places of Odisha, North Andhra Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. During the next 24 hours, as this system would be moving further west/northwestwards, hence rainfall will be shifting towards west/northwestwards over to Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh region.
After 24- 36 hours, rainfall will start decreasing over Odisha. However, Chhattisgarh is expected to receive heavy rains during the next 48 hours. Thereafter, rainfall activity will decrease over Chhattisgarh also.
Places like Raigarh, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Bhawanipatna, Phulbani, Cuttack, Bhubaneshwar, Jharsuguda, Jagdalpur, Bijapur, Durg, Raipur, Pendra are expected to receive heavy to very rains during this period.
Flood like conditions may also arise over southern parts of Odisha and Chhattisgarh region. Therefore, all the residents of these regions are expected to remain alerted.
