In the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Sunday, North Lakhimpur 72.2 mm, Itanagar 23.4 mm, Cherrapunji 13.8 mm, Mazbat 13.2 mm, Imphal 2.4 mm, Tinsukia 2 mm, Dibrugarh 1.2 mm, Goalpara 1.1 mm, Agartala and Kailashahar 0.8 mm.

In fact, in the adjoining areas of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Gangtok recorded 8.4 mm of rain, followed by Kalimpong 15 mm, Jalpaiguri 14 mm and Tadong 4.7 mm.

Currently, we can see a cyclonic circulation over Arunachal Pradesh. Therefore, we expect moderate to heavy rains over East Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and parts of Nagaland for the next 24 to 48 hours. Thereafter intensity of these rains will reduce but light to moderate rains will still continue over all these areas.

Moreover, remaining northeastern states such as Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura including Sikkim and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal are also expected to continue with light to moderate rains. Thus, we can say that the flood situations over parts of Northeast India will remain grim.
