Rain in Andhra Pradesh has brought much needed relief from the heatwave conditions in the state. Andhra Pradesh had been reeling under intense heat which caused close to 2000 deaths across the state.
However, in the last couple of days there has been some good rain in parts of Andhra Pradesh, which has pulled down the temperatures drastically. And according to Skymet Meteorology Division in India there are chances of heavy rain in some pockets of the state in next 48 hours.
A trough of low pressure runnning across Rayalaseema from Vidarbha to south Tamil Nadu along with an upper air cyclonic circulation over west central Bay of Bengal will play a vital role in giving rain over the region.
According to Skymet Meteorology Division in India, heavy rainfall warning has been issued for the districts of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna, and Guntur along the coast and in the districts of Anantapur, Kurnool, Kadapa, and Chittoor in Rayalaseema region for the next 48 hours.
Some places in the state to have recorded good amounts of rain in span of 24 hours from 8.30 am on Sunday are Yelamanchili where 30 mm of rain was recorded. Amalapuram and Palakoderu recorded 20 mm of rain each, while Shayampet and Hyderabad observed 50 mm and 30 mm of rain, respectively.
