These ongoing rains can be attributed to the trough running Central Pakistan across the West Coast that includes Coastal Gujarat and Konkan and Goa region. Due to this, humid southerly winds from Arabian Sea are blowing over Gujarat, which had resulted in development of convective, followed by rain.
As the trough will continue to persist, these rains and thundershowers would also persist. Ahmedabad along with Surat may see some showers this time. Though intensity of rain will vary from place to place.
In wake of this rainy spell, day maximums have taken a dip and are now settling in the range of higher 30s to early 40s. This has ushered in major relief from extremely hot weather conditions which were prevailing over Gujarat in mid-May.
