Mumbai rains have once again made a comeback after remaining dry for some time. Heavy rainfall was observed over the financial capital of the country when Southwest Monsoon made an onset. In fact, due to few heavy showers, water logging and a lot of destruction was also observed. However, rain intensity was seen decreasing during the last few days.
In the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday, Santacruz observatory of Mumbai recorded heavy rain to the tune of 58.7 mm. In the same time frame, Colaba also recorded heavy rain to the tune of 44 mm.
Talking about the nearby areas of Mumbai city, Alibagh recorded 21 mm of rain, followed by Dahanu 46 mm, Harnai 34 mm.

Currently, an off-shore trough is seen extending from North Maharashtra Coast to Kerala Coast. Simultaneously, an upper air cyclonic circulation is marked over South Coastal Gujarat and North Coastal Maharashtra between 3.1 km to 3.6 km. This system is likely to shift southwards i.e. closer to the coast slowly.
Intermittently, moderate to heavy spells of rain and thundershowers will occur over Mumbai and adjoining areas during the next 24-36 hours. Though light rains will occur thereafter also, but intensity will decrease.
The day temperatures are likely to remain between 27-29 degrees. Meanwhile, night temperatures will settle between 21-23 degrees.
