Heavy Mumbai rains reappear, to continue for the next few hoursMumbai rains had taken a slight backseat during the last 24 to 48 hours with the city recording moderate showers only. While the city had received heavy showers before that, rain gods had decided to give Mumbaikars a break.

The last 24 hours were no different and the city did recorded a few moderate spells. During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Monday, the Santa Cruz observatory received a good 22.6 mm of rain. The Colaba observatory witnessed light rains of 4 mm only.

Now, heavy Monsoon rains have reappeared over the maximum city. During the past few hours, Mumbai has been receiving very heavy Monsoon rains. Due to these heavy Monsoon rains, road traffic has taken a toll. Several areas are witnessing heavy traffic congestion.

Not only this, local trains in several areas are also running late. People on social media forums have been complaining as well as rejoicing the very heavy Mumbai rains. These heavy showers are expected to continue for the next few hours.

Thereafter, intermittent showers will continue to lash the maximum city. During the next 24 to 48 hours, Mumbai will continue to witness moderate to heavy Monsoon rains.

So far, Mumbai has recorded a good 322.5 mm of rainfall against its monthly average of 312.3 mm of rain. Thus, the city has been able to surpass its monthly rains swiftly. Now, with ten more days to go, excess rains are in cards for the city of dreams.
