The city of Mumbai has been witnessing rainfall activity for the past few days. Mumbai rains yesterday were quite heavy in intensity and also widespread in nature.
In a span of 24 hours from 8:30 a.m. yesterday, Santa Cruz observatory recorded 45 mm of rainfall while rainfall was also heavy over Colaba to the tune of 44 mm.
Both minimum, as well as maximum temperatures, have seen a drop in view of these rainfall activities. Yesterday the maximum temperature settled at 34.2 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature today was recorded at 24.6 degrees which is below the normal levels.
Moreover, the morning also started with rains and cloudy sky conditions continue to persist even now. Rain in Mumbai is expected to continue today and in the coming days as well.
Southwest Monsoon which has had a delayed onset throughout the country is also late in the city of Mumbai. The normal onset date for Mumbai is June 10, however, even on June 15, Mumbai is only setting with pre Monsoon showers.
Temperatures in Mumbai will continue to remain on the lower side and the weather will remain pleasant. Sunshine will be seen less, and cloudy sky conditions will be dominant over the city of Mumbai.
