Heavy Monsoon showers in Gwalior, Datia, Panna, Tikamgarh likely

Madhya Pradesh received light to moderate rain showers during the last 24 hours. However, few places such as Rewa received heavy rainfall activity to the tune of 50 mm.

In the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Saturday, Guna 22.8 mm, Satna 12.6 mm, Umaria 10.4 mm, Mandla 8 mm, Jabalpur 7.2 mm, Gwalior 6 mm, Dhar 9.7 mm, Sagar 5,.2 mm, Pachmarhi 5 mm, Khandwa 4 mm, Betul and Khajuraho 0.2 mm, Bhopal 0.1 mm. Meanwhile, Ujjain and Indore saw trace of rain.

At present, the axis of Monsoon trough is persisting and passing across northern parts of Madhya Pradesh. A fresh low-pressure are has formed over Northwest Bay of Bengal off Odisha Coast. Hence, moisture incursion will be continuing over the state, which will be affecting light to moderate rain over many places of Madhya Pradesh.

However, northern parts of the state are expected to receive heavy rains over few pockets. These weather conditions will continue during the next 24 to 34 hours. Thereafter rain intensity will increase further over the state.

Places like Gwalior, Bhind, Datia, Tikamgarh and Panna will witness heavy rainfall activity. Rest all places will receive light to moderate rains.

Few spells of rain and thundershowers are likely to affect over Anuppur, Ashok Nagar, Balaghat, Bhind, Bhopal, Chhatarpur, Chhindwara, Damoh, Datia, Dindori, Guna, Gwalior, Hoshangabad, Jabalpur, Katni, Mandla, Morena, Narsimhapur, Panna, Raisen, Rewa, Sagar, Satna, Sehore, Seoni, Shahdol, Sheopur, Shivpuri, Sidhi, Singrauli, Tikamgarh, Umaria and Vidisha.
