The city of Kolkata has seen heavy rains in the last 24 hours with Alipore witnessing 60 mm rains and Dum Dum Airport recording 43 mm of rainfall. We can expect some more rains today as well as tomorrow. Day after tomorrow, rains may be slightly less but will see good showers.
Thus, more showers will be seen as after the depression moves further away, another Circulation will be seen over Bangladesh and adjoining West Bengal. Also, the the line connecting both systems will also be seen in proximity of the city of Kolkata.
Unlike Delhi where Monsoon is closer to its withdrawal, Kolkata continues to see Monsoon rains even until mid of October at times. Weather wise also, unlike other cities, Kolkata sees similar weather in terms of temperature, rain and conditions in July, August and September.
