The reason for this sudden increase in rainfall activity can be attributed to the formation of a cyclonic circulation over South Gujarat and an offshore trough which is extending up to Kerala.

As per Skymet weather, moderate rains are likely over many places and heavy to very heavy rains at a few places are likely to continue for the next two days. Thereafter the intensity may reduce over the West Coast as a cyclonic circulation will gradually move towards West away from the Indian coast.
