The State of Odisha has been witnessing some good rains during the past few days. In fact, there have been a few heavy spells of rain over many areas as well. Due to this, weather conditions have also become pleasant over the state.
The last 24 hours were also not different and many areas witnessed good monsoon showers. In a span of 24 hours from 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sundargarh witnessed a good 74 mm of rain followed by Keonjhargarh where 45 mm rain was recorded. Other areas to have witnessed good rains include Sambalpur 42 mm, Gopalpur 36 mm, Bhubaneswar 22 mm, Koraput 25 mm and Cuttack 10 mm.

These rainy conditions have been attributed to the presence of a trough which is running up to coastal Andhra Pradesh across the Odisha region. Along with this, a low-pressure area is also over Uttar Pradesh and adjoining Vihar which has been increasing the moisture incursion over the region.

As per Skymet Weather, Odisha is expected to witness more Monsoon showers during the next 24 to 48 hours. These rains will be moderate to heavy in nature and will keep humid weather away from the state for at least some time now.
