Monsoon is vigorous over Konkan and Goa since last three to four days, bringing heavy to very heavy rains over the coastal region of Maharashtra. Places like Dahanu, Harnai, Mahabaleshwar has recorded three digit rainfall during the last 24 hours.
Moderate to heavy rains also occurred over Vidarbha region, whereinNagpurrecorded 41 mm of rains. However, MadhyaMaharashtraand Marathwada received light to moderate rains. At present rain average of Konkan & Goa is at par, while Madhya Maharashtra is surplus by 29% and Maharathwada by 41%. The only region which is deficit is Vidarbha by 20%.

In last 24 hours from 8.30 am on Monday, the following cities in Maharashtra recorded moderate to heavy rainfall. Due to the heavy rainfall cities like Mumbai and nearby Thane is facing traffic problems.

We expect that moderate to heavy rain will continue over Konkan & Goa for the next two to three days and Vidarbha will also receive light to moderate rains for another 24 hours. Whereas, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada will continue receiving subdued scattered rains only.
As per Skymet Weather, the temperature is not increasing, weather in the coastal region is comfortable, Madhya Maharashtra pleasant while, Marathwada and Vidarbha region will remain warm and humid.
