Since the arrival of the Southwest monsoon, on and off Monsoon rains have been lashing the state of Gujarat. So much so that a few heavy spells of rains were also recorded in some areas of the Gujarat region.
Even now, moderate to heavy spells of rain have been occurring over many parts of Gujarat giving the residents relief from the humid weather. The last 24 hours were also not different as heavy rains of 77 mm were recorded over Bhavnagar. Other areas to have received good rains include Kandla 22 mm, Rajkot 13 mm, Amreli 6 mm, Dwarka 3 mm, Mahuva 3 mm and Vadodara 4 mm.
These monsoon showers have been attributed to the upper air cyclonic circulation which is over Southwest Rajasthan and adjoining areas.

Along with this, moisture incursion has also been taking place from the Arabian Sea over these above-mentioned cities which have further resulted in some cloud development over the region.
As per weathermen at Skymet Weather, light to moderate rains with isolated heavy showers may occur over many parts of Gujarat. While the interior parts are expected to witness almost dry weather with only the possibility of isolated light rain, good showers may occur over other parts.
