Heavy Monsoon rains in Mumbai are back, to stay for a while

Mumbai rains have been back with a bang. The maximum city has been witnessing heavy rains for the past two days. In fact, rainfall intensity had increased by a great extent. It seems like those typical Mumbai rains are finally making a comeback.

The last 24 hours were proof of the Mumbai rains being back with a bang. During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, Santa Cruz observatory recorded a good 52 mm of rain.

However, it was the Colaba observatory where very heavy rains were witnessed to the tune of a whopping 82 mm.

These weather conditions have been attributed to the presence of a cyclonic circulation over the Gujarat Coast. Also, the off-shore trough along the West Coast is also currently active.

Even at present, some thunderclouds have developed over the region, thus, Mumbai rains will continue during the day also.

As per weathermen at Skymet Weather, the city of dreams is expected to witness moderate to heavy rains during the next 3 to 4 days. In fact, chances are that some three digit rainy spells may also be observed over the city of Mumbai during the aforementioned period. Other areas of the West Coast will also witness good rains in the coming days.
