The state of Chhattisgarh has been observing rain and thundershower activities for quite some time now. All thanks to the Low- Pressure area, giving scattered light to moderate rains in Bilaspur, Ambikapur and Jagdalpur since the last two days. As the system would now move closer to Chhattisgarh, rainfall activities would increase and good showers would be observed in many parts of the state.
According to our meteorologists, the Low-pressure Area over Odisha has now started moving westwards closer to Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. Thus, the rain intensity will significantly increase during the next 24 hours and on July 3, heavy rains will lash many parts of the state. Thereafter, rains will taper over the region and continue with light intensity only. By this time, the system would have further moved towards Maharashtra, thus giving heavy rains there.
The good news is the heavy spell of rain will improve the rain deficiency of the state to a great extent and also be beneficial from agriculture point of view. It will help the farmers in soil moisture restoration. Moreover, the groundwater levels and water scarcity would improve. The Rabi crops would get the maximum benefit from the ongoing rains.
