Heavy to extremely heavy rains continue to batter the West Coast, particularly parts of Goa. All thanks to the cyclonic circulation that is prevailing in the Arabian Sea off Coastal Karnataka.
Right from Kerala up to Konkan & Goa, the region has received good rainfall. However, intensity of rain was slightly low over Coastal Karnataka.
Let us have a look at the following rainfall figures recorded in span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Monday:
According to Skymet Weather, the weather system continues to move in the sea due to which it is still retaining its strength.
Further, weather conditions indicate that the system is likely to get more marked in span of next 24 hours, leading to increase in intensity and spread of rain.
Not only this, the system is also complimenting another circulation which is existing in its close proximity over Coastal Andhra Pradesh. As a result, interior parts of Peninsular India are also witnessing good rains. For instance, Bangalore has recorded 50 mm of rain in last 24 hours.
