As per Skymet Weather, a low pressure has formed over northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Odisha Coast. This weather system is likely to move westwards. In wake of this weather system, Monsoon rainfall activity would enhance further over Odisha and Chhattisgarh. The southern and western districts of Odisha are likely to receive very heavy spells during the next 24 hours. Meanwhile, the central and southern districts of Chhattisgarh would observe Monsoon rains.

Districts such as Koraput, Jharsuguda, Titlagarh, Bhabanipatna, Durg, Raipur, Rajgarh, Ambikapur, Koriya, Jagdalpur, and Bastar would witness hefty Monsoon rains during the next 24 hours.

As on July 13, Chhattisgarh is rain deficient by 11 percent and Odisha by 24 percent rains. Due to these rains, the rain deficiency of both these states is likely to reduce.

The sky will remain mainly overcast sky and the temperatures would also remain on the lower side. In fact, the remaining districts of both the states would also witness light to moderate rains during the next 24. However, weathermen indicated that the intensity of rains would decrease after 24 hours. Though, another good spell of Monsoon rains is expected July 19 onward.
