As predicted by Skymet Weather, most parts of East Madhya Pradesh continued to witness moderate to heavy Monsoon rains during the past day. In fact, scattered moderate Monsoon rains were also witnessed over West Madhya Pradesh and isolated showers over North the districts of the state. Moreover, some districts of southwest Madhya Pradesh also recorded hefty rains.

In the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Friday, Khandwa recorded heavy rain to the tune of 99 mm, followed by Seoni at 49.2 mm, Pachmarhi 32 mm, Jabalpur 31.8 mm and Bhopal 23.2 mm of rains.
In wake of these hefty showers, water logging has affected many districts of the state. In fact, many areas are witnessing flood like situations.
These rains can be attributed to a cyclonic circulation which is persisting over North Chhattisgarh. This weather system is tilting southwestwards. Therefore, moderate to heavy rainfall activity mainly over southeast and southwest parts of Madhya Pradesh will continue to occur.
In fact, scattered light to moderate rains over remaining parts of East Madhya Pradesh will also occur. These activities will occur during the next 48 hours. Places such as Hoshangabad, Betul, Harda, Chhindhwara, Seoni, Khandwa, Khargone, Indore, Dewas, Ujjain, Bhopal, Jabalpur and Mandla are likely to record good rains.
Meanwhile, mainly dry weather will prevail over the extreme northern parts of the state. In fact, rains may intensify around July 10 or 11. As on July 6, West Madhya Pradesh is rain surplus by 6 percent. Meanwhile, East Madhya Pradesh is rain deficit by 22 percent. With these rains, the deficiency is expected to cover up.
