After a prolonged dry spell from July 22 to July 31, rains have once again commenced over Telangana as well as over the capital city Hyderabad.
In fact, since the beginning of August scattered rains are going on over Telangana. Northern districts have witnessed few heavy to very heavy spells during the last two days. Hyderabad has also received scattered rains, occasionally the city also witnessed good rainfall activity.
In the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Monday, Hyderabad recorded 7.1 mm of rain.
At present, a low-pressure are has developed over Northwest Bay of Bengal and is expected to move in westerly direction and become more marked. Due to its influence Telangana is all set to receive heavy rainfall activity mainly in the northern districts during the next two days.
Moderate to heavy showers are expected over Mehboob Nagar, Warangal, Karim Nagar, Nizamabad, Ramagundam, Medak, Peddapalle and Hyderabad.
After two days, we expect rains to decrease over Telangana. Thus, we can say that, heavy to very heavy rains are expected during the next 48 hours. These heavy rains may also trigger water logging and flashfloods in many parts of the state.
