Good rain expected in Dharamsala, Nahan for next 2 days

Rain in DharamsalaAccording to Skymet Meteorology Division in India, Western Disturbance which is presently stationed over North Pakistan and adjoining region has been affecting the weather over Western Himalayas.

Moreover, the weather system is expected to move in northeast direction and during next 24 hours, it will cover the hilly region of North India. Thus, fairly widespread rain is expected over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand during next 24 to 36 hours. Isolated places may receive heavy to very showers.

Heavy to extremely heavy rain lashed famous hill stations of Dharamasala and Nahan in Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday. In span of 24 hours ending at 8:30 am on Wednesday, Dharamsala has recorded 236.4 mm of rain, while Nahan received 106.3 mm.

Both the hill stations are on  the verge of surpassing their respective monthly average rainfall. So far, Dharamsala has recorded 701.2 mm of rain against the monthly normal of 781 mm. Similarly, Nahan has also received 404.4 mm of rain against the normal of 461.7 mm.

As on August 12, Himachal Pradesh is rain deficient by 8%. However with weather conditions indicative of more Monsoon showers during next 48 hours, we expect this deficiency to come down.
