Heavy Madhya Pradesh rains to return, flooding likely

Rain in Madhya Pradesh (2)Central India has been main beneficiary this Monsoon, specially Madhya Pradesh. Though beginning of the season saw some deficient rains on account of delayed onset of Monsoon 2018 but July and August saw bountiful Monsoon rain.

According to Skymet Weather, the performance of the state has been quite satisfactory. Both the intensity and spread were exceptionally good on account of back to back weather systems moving through and through the state.

As a result, Madhya Pradesh is range of normal Monsoon rain, with minor deficiency to the tune 4% for West Madhya Pradesh, while 6% for East Madhya Pradesh.

Now, a fresh low pressure area has developed in North Bay of Bengal and is most likely to track west-northwest, covering right from Odisha to Madhya Pradesh.

In fact, rains would begin by Wednesday night, picking up pace by Thursday. We would see rapid coverage for the state, beginning with East Madhya Pradesh to West Madhya Pradesh.

Weathermen are predicting widespread moderate to heavy rains in store for the state for the next 48 hours. Flash floods are also a threat during this time. These showers can be accompanied with strong winds with some thunderstorm and lightning as well.

Places like Rewa, Satna, Jabalpur, Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Gwalior, Guna and Khajuraho are likely to see rains of varying intensity.
