Ahmedabad in particular has also been recording moderate to heavy Monsoon rains during the last four days. In fact, the city has been able to record a whopping 281 mm of rainfall. In a span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, Ahmedabad witnessed a good 64 mm of rainfall.
The reason for such heavy Monsoon rains over Ahmedabad and adjoining areas of Gujarat can be attributed to the presence of a low-pressure area which is currently over South Rajasthan and its adjoining areas. Moisture incursion has also been taking place from the off-shore trough running from Gujarat.

Thus, as per weathermen at Skymet Weather, moderate to heavy rains are expected to continue during the next 24 hours as well. Areas which remain waterlogged or flooded may not witness any relief during this time frame.
However, some relief is likely after 24-48 hours when heavy rainfall activity will take a backseat. But, the city of Ahmedabad will not go completely dry and light showers will continue to lash the city after the weather system dissipates.
