Heatwave to rule Maharashtra for few more days

Maharashtra’s battle with hot and sizzling weather has become a fore tale now. From a long time, the state and its several districts have been witnessing intense summer heat. In fact, most parts of the Vidarbha region in Maharashtra are reeling under intense heatwave condition.

The heatwave has been spinning around the districts like Nagpur, Chandrapur, Bramhapuri and Wardha wherein maximum temperatures are settling around 45 degree Celsius. The reason for this persistent heatwave condition as per Skymet Weather can be attributed to the absence of any significant weather system. Moreover, these regions lie on the Tropic of Cancer and thus the heatwave conditions have been prevalent over these areas.

In fact, the heatwave has not even spared the parts of Madhya Maharashtra regions as well. This is the reason that districts like Sangli and Satara are also enveloped under intense summer heat.In fact, the coastal city and the capital of the state, Mumbai also remained humid and hot on account of non appearance of any weather system.

Furthermore, Skymet Weather does not foresee any significant weather system and thus, chances of a much-needed relief from the heatwave is not forecast as of now. Moreover, the heatwave is also likely to grip parts of Marathwada as well.

A sigh of relief is predicted after two to three days when pre-Monsoon activities are likely to appear over parts of interior Maharashtra. However, the coastal city Mumbai will continue to be under the grip hot and uncomfortable weather conditions.

However, in the last 24 hours, isolated parts of South Madhya Maharashtra region did witness a few showers but unfortunately, that did not bring any relief from the ongoing heat. Maximum temperatures in most parts of Maharashtra will continue to settle between 40°C and 45°C.

Skymet Weather reiterates that isolated rain activities are likely to continue over South Madhya Maharashtra including Pune and one or two places in the South Konkan and Goa region may also witness a few spells but the intensity of these showers will be very less and for a very short duration. Hence, relief in the temperature profile is not anticipated as of now.
