Gujarat and Rajasthan are experiencing extremely uneasy weather conditions for the past many days. The temperatures are settling above normal over almost all the districts. Moreover, many districts are observing heatwave like conditions.

At present light southwesterly winds are prevailing over the western parts of Rajasthan. The winds are very warm and dry. In fact, in the adjoining southern parts of Pakistan, the maximum temperatures have reached 44°C to 46°C.
Thus, we expect a further rise in temperatures over the West Rajasthan during the next 24 to 48 hours. These areas are already reeling under severe heatwave conditions. Places such as Barmer,Bikaner, andJaisalmerare recording above normal temperatures between 6°C and 7°C.
The northern parts and eastern parts of Rajasthan may receive moist easterly southeasterly winds during the next 24 to 48 hours. In wake of this, the minimum temperatures may rise over the region. In fact, the humidity will also increase.
Moreover, the southern parts of the state will continue to remain very hot with above normal temperatures around 4°C to 6°C.
It is expected that dry weather will prevail during the 48 hours. Thereafter, there are chances of isolated thundercloud develop in isolated pockets. In Gujarat heatwave will prevail at some parts such asRajkot, Amreli, Deesa, and Banaskantha.
As per weathermen, northwesterly westerly winds expected to blow over the region. It is expected the southwest parts of Gujarat would witness a marginal drop in temperatures. Temperatures of remaining stations will continue to settle above normal. The weather during the day would be very hot and dry.
In fact, the south coastal stations are likely to observe sultry weather conditions. Both the capital cities of the states,AhmedabadandJaipurare also expected to witness very hot weather conditions.
