Heatwave conditions have been prevailing over most parts of the Central India since last many days. Temperatures in most parts of Vidarbha, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and parts of Gujarat are settling above the 45-degree mark.

Yesterday, maximum temperatures recorded above 45 degrees over Central India were as follows – Bramhapuri 47.5, Chandrapur 47.4, Nagpur 46.2, Bundi 46.0, Wardha 45.8, Adilabad 45.1, Parbhani and Sawai Madhopur 45.0.
Currently, we can see that the weather activities over northwest plains have almost stopped leading to commencement of hot and dry westerly/ northwesterly winds from Baluchistan and South Sindh.
The temperatures are very high, and we do not expect any significant weather activity over Vidarbha, Madhya Pradesh, South Rajasthan for the next 4-5 days. Therefore, some more areas of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh are expected to witness heatwave conditions.
Most parts of Vidarbha are already experiencing heatwave conditions. Moreover, after 2-3 days we expect further increase in temperatures over all these states.
Although isolated pre-Monsoon active may occur over east Vidarbha during next 24-48 hours but will not have any significant effect over the temperatures.
Thus, we do not expect any relief from the ongoing hot weather conditions for next many days.
