Weather conditions have been playing the hide and seek game over both the central and northern parts of India. While there is heatwave in some parts, other areas are witnessing on and off weather activity in terms of rain, thundershowers, thunderstorm and dust storm.
At present, a few weather features are persisting over both Central India as well as plains of North India. Due to this, light rain and thundershower along with dust storm and thunderstorm activity will continue over many parts.
However, some parts of North Indian plains including South Haryana, Rajasthan, Southwest Uttar Pradesh and adjoining Madhya Pradesh are reeling under heatwave conditions.
In fact, maximums are settling above the 45-degree mark over many areas. Some of these include: Bundi 46°C, Sawai Madhopur 45.7°C, Sri Ganganagar 45.5°C, Churu 45°C, Kota 45.1°C, Narnaul 45°C, Nowgong 45°C, Banda 44.8°C, and Sheopur 44.8°C.
When the temperatures are at 45 degrees or above, heatwave conditions automatically prevail over the region regardless of the departure from normal levels.
During the next 24 to 48 hours, the prevailing weather systems will move away which is why weather activity over parts of North and Central India will take a backseat. Thus, dry weather conditions will take over and heatwave will make a comeback over more parts of the aforementioned-areas.
