To such an extent that the day maximums today settled at a whopping 46 degrees which happens to be well above the normal levels. Not only this, the national capital reeled under heatwave conditions today.

With this, we expect heatwave conditions to persist over these regions and scorching weather to persist for the next 24 hours until May 28-29.

As per Skymet Weather, a trough of low pressure is running from northern parts of Delhi along with the foothills of Uttar Pradesh. Due to this, dust storm, rain, and thundershower with squally winds are likely in parts of Delhi and NCR after the next 24 to 48 hours.

Live lightning and thunder over Delhi and NCR:

With this, day maximums are expected to decrease by 2 to 3 degrees. Morning and night hours are likely to remain pleasant. This trough will gradually move southwards and bring pre-Monsoon rains may occur over Delhi and NCR in the form of Dust storm and thunderstorm activities during the next 24 to 48 hours.

Hence, the hot and dry weather conditions over Delhi and NCR will take a back seat and thereafter, the pre-Monsoon activities may start over these regions.
