The temperatures over most parts continued to remain above 40 degrees mark. Yesterday top 10 hottest places in India were also seen from Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh and recorded their maximum temperatures above 45°C. Chandrapur recorded its maximum temperature at 47.3°C, Bramhapuri 46.7°C, Khargone 46.0°C, Akola 45.6°C, Sri Ganganagar 45.5°C, Parbhani and Wardha 45.5°C, Chittorgarh 45.1°C, Churu and Jalgaon 45.0°C.
Currently, a trough is seen extending from North Madhya Pradesh to South Madhya Maharashtra. Dry and warm northwesterly winds are also seen prevailing over most parts of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra.
Temperatures are expected to rise over these regions and further lead to intensified heatwave type condition in some more parts of Vidarbha and may further develop in parts of Marathwada, North Madhya Maharashtra and West Madhya Pradesh.
Due to the strong westerly winds few parts of Rajasthan and adjoining Kutch may also experience heatwave or heatwave type conditions. Temperatures over Chhattisgarh are also expected to rise during the next 24 hours.
Due to the trough isolated activities are also expected over Chhattisgarh, East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and southern parts of Madhya Maharashtra. Thus, there is a possibility of marginal drop of temperatures over these regions after 24 hours.
