Heatwave has gripped several parts of India. While record breaking temperatures have been observed in parts of East India, now, Kerala is also reeling under intense heatwave conditions. However, all this time, Rajasthan continued to witness temperatures close to the normal levels.
The back to back Western Disturbances affecting the Western Himalayas kept the temperatures under check over the Northwestern Plains. Rajasthan also continued to observe maximums below the normal levels.
Now, for the past two days, temperatures in Rajasthan have also witnessed a rise. So much so that several places have been observing heatwave conditions. Some places have also recorded their maximums beyond the 45-degree mark. Temperatures in other areas have also been recorded close to 45 degrees.
For instance, Phalodi was the hottest place in India at 46 degree Celsius. Also Jalore sizzled at 44.9°C, Barmer 44.5°C, Jaisalmer 44°C, Bikaner 43.5°C, and Jodhpur 43.5°C.
During the next 48 hours, conditions will remain the same. Temperatures will continue with their rising trend. Heatwave conditions will be observed over the region resulting in discomfort.
However, after two days, maximums will witness a drop. Light rain is expected to occur between May 2 and 4. Thus, during this time, the abatement of heatwave conditions will take place and the scorching summer heat will take a backseat soon.
