With just half way through April and India’s peak summer months yet to set in, situation is reaching an alarming state across the country as temperatures have reached upto 45 degrees mark in the East India, especially West Bengal and Odisha.
While East India has been witnessing heatwave since last few days, the severe heat has once begun to shift westwards and engulf part of Central India including Maharashtra.
The heat wave conditions are gradually moving upto Andhra Pradesh and Telangana where people are becoming victims of the blazing sun and high humidity. The discomfort levels have increased beyond comprehension as heatwave has already claimed more than 100 lives in these two states.
High humidity along with high temperature is considered to be a deadly combination as it may lead to organ failure, heat stroke and deaths in many cases.

A list of cities that are currently reeling under heatwave includes Patna and Purnea in Bihar, Jamshedpur in Jharkhand, Bhubaneswar in Odisha and Kolkata, Bankura in West Bengal.
According to Skymet weather, the temperatures that are gradually settling above 40°C are not likely to mellow out till the end of this weekend. In fact, temperatures are most likely to increase across Central, East and Peninsular India in absence of rain.
