Yesterday many places of Rajasthan recorded their maximum temperature above 45˚C. Meanwhile most of the places saw their maximum temperature settling above 40 degrees.
Bundi and Phalodi recorded their maximum temperature at 47.6 ˚C, followed by Sri Ganganagar 47.0 ˚C, Bikaner 46.6 ˚C, Churu 46.4 ˚C, Sawai Madhopur 46.3 ˚C, Chittorgarh 46.0 ˚C, Jaisalmer 45.7 ˚C, Kota 45.4 ˚C.
Currently, hot and dry winds from west/southwest direction are blowing over the entire state. These winds are travelling from Sindh and Balochistan region of Pakistan where temperatures are very high.
Further, also we expect these hot winds to continue for at least next two days. Thus, we can say that heatwave conditions are still likely to persist over many parts of the state.
Winds will change direction and start blowing from southwest direction. These humid winds from Arabian Sea will be instrumental in dropping the temperatures by 2-3 degrees over the states and give little relief from the ongoing hot weather.
Wind change is expected to occur around June 8 or June 9. Thereafter, heatwave conditions will abate from many parts of Rajasthan, but isolated pockets may still continue to experience heatwave conditions.
