Heatwave grips North Madhya Pradesh, to hit Maharashtra soon

Weathermen across the country have already indicated that Summer 2017 will be exceptionally warm. But one would start feeling the affect the heat this soon was not expected.

It just the March and heatwave has already gripped parts of Madhya Pradesh. Heatwave is declared when the maximum temperatures are above normal by 4-5 degrees over a city whose normal average temperature is 40°C or more.

According to Skymet Weather, isolated places of North Madhya Pradesh are already experiencing heat wave conditions. Besides this, many places of Vidarbha and Marathwada region of Maharashtra are witnessing heatwave like conditions with temperatures reaching 40°C.

In fact, maximum temperature over rest of Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Interior Odisha are also significantly above normal.  These ongoing conditions can be attributed clear sky which is paving way for the continuous flow of dry and hot northwesterly winds.

What is worrying is the fact that worst is yet to come. The mercury is all set to rise further in the coming days. According to weathermen, very soon some more parts of West Madhya Pradesh will come under the ambit of heatwave. Meanwhile, isolated places of Vidarbha, Marathwada and Madhya Maharashtra may also its ambit in the next two days.

Let us have a look at the day temperatures on Friday across these regions.

Normally, temperatures do not soar during this time of the year. During the last 2-3 years, unseasonal showers in the month of March had kept the day temperatures under check but this year lack of weather activity are responsible for these conditions.

Moreover, weathermen are not expecting any good spell of pre-Monsoon showers this season. As a result, summers will be sizzling hot.
