The eastern parts of the country including Bihar, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha etc have been observing maximum temperatures above the normal levels and heat has been building up in this particular area.
For instance, yesterday, Sambalpur saw 44 degrees in Odisha, being the highest in the eastern region. Other high maximums in East India include Bhagalpur at 43.2 degrees, Purnea 42.9 degrees, Bhawanipata, Patna, Titlagarh, and Jhrasuguda each at 42.5 degrees.
These pockets are seeing heatwave conditions and will continue to see temperatures like this along with other parts of East India in the absence of any system. For the next 3-4 days, expect conditions to be there and temperatures to be on the higher side.
