Most parts of the country are witnessing hot and dry weather conditions from quite many days now. States like Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and parts of Maharashtra have been observing temperatures surpassed the 40-degree mark. With such heatwave conditions, it is apt to say that summers have made an early visit to the region.
The reason for these weather conditions can be associated with the absence of any significant weather system prevailing over the region. Besides this, hot and dry winds from the north are also prevailing over the region, which has caused the mercury to rise significantly over most parts. These winds are reaching the region from Pakistan and West Rajasthan.
Moreover, pre-Monsoon rains have abated from entire northwestern plains along with Central India, therefore leading to soaring mercury.
Skymet Weather predicts, as temperatures of Telangana and North Interior Karnataka are settling above normal, so it been expected that heatwave may cover these regions as well.
For now, minimum temperatures are also rising gradually and over most parts they are reaching mid-20 degrees. So no relief is expected during night hours.
These hot and dry weather conditions are likely to maintain its grip over these areas for next two to three days.
