Heatwave confined to East India

As reiterated by Skymet Meteorology Division in India, rain has brought relief from sweltering heat across India and heatwave is now confined to eastern states of Bihar and Jharkhand and isolated parts of central Rajasthan only.

Till Monday, heatwave had abated from Northwest India but Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Vidarbha, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh continued to be under its grip.

However, scattered rain along with thunderstorm over Telangana and Andhra Pradesh eased down the soaring mercury. And, the impact of this weather activity was also felt over Central India. Cloud cover and cool winds were blowing over Vidarbha, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh that brought down the day temperatures.

According to Skymet Meteorology Division in India, weather activity is due to the two cyclonic circulations prevailing over Madhya Pradesh and adjoining region, and west central Bay of Bengal off the Andhra Coast, respectively.

First one has given scattered rain over Telangana and Odisha, while other one has given moderate to heavy rain over the coastal parts of Andhra Pradesh.

Meanwhile, Northwest India is already witnessing good weather conditions on account of Western Disturbance over hills and cyclonic circulation over Haryana and adjoining Rajasthan that have given rain accompanied by dust storms and thundershowers.

But drop in temperatures across Northwest India may be short lived as these systems will fade away in next two days. Thereafter, maximum temperatures over the plains are expected to rise and may come under the grip of heat wave once again.
