Heatwave abates from most parts of India as Monsoon nears

Heatwave conditions had been wreaking havoc over many parts of India during the last few days. In fact, temperatures were crossing the 45-degree mark in many areas. Coastal stations of Tamil Nadu including Chennai were also reeling under heatwave conditions with temperatures crossing the 40-degree mark.

Central parts of the country including Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh were also severely hit with heatwave. In fact, the maximum temperature in Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh settled at a whopping 49.3 degrees just about a few days ago.

As far as North India is concerned, Delhi and the NCR region along with adjoining areas of Rajasthan and Haryana, Punjab were also reeling under intense heatwave. The maximum here also had crossed the 45-degree mark.

However, rain gods decided to bestow some kindness over the residents of the country. Now, with Monsoon just about two days away from Kerala, Pre-Monsoon activity has picked up pace over almost the entire country.

Right from East India to the central parts of the country, multiple weather features have been giving good rains over most parts.

Not only this, a depression has formed in Bay which may intensify into a cyclone during the next 24 to 36 hours after concentrating into a deep depression. With this, rains will increase over the East Coast along with East India and southern parts. Monsoon advancement will also take place.

Thus, heatwave will remain abated from most parts barring isolated pockets of Rajasthan for a long time now.
