Heat wave to make a comeback over Delhi, temperatures to soar

Delhi has seen excessive heat in March and April. In fact, record number of heat wave days were seen in Delhi. Some parts saw heat wave conditions even for more than 15 days, Safdarjung has seen 10 days of heat wave in April.

This month started on a warming note but in view of Pre Monsoon activities, heatwave conditions abated temporarily. Now, in the absence of any activity for at least about a week. Now, the temperatures are likely to be above normal starting today.

Usually, temperatures around the 1st week of May are around 39 degrees, by end of May normal reaches 40 degrees. Now, temperatures will be at least 4-5 degrees above the normal levels. This may result in heat wave and even severe heat wave conditions in teh next few days.

Tomorrow, temperatures can settle around 40 degrees. Thereafter, the same maximum may even reach 44-45 degrees at around May 15 or 16.
