Heat wave to become widespread across the country due to soaring temperatures

With Western Disturbances clearing up and no major weather system brewing up anywhere else in India, the condition is perfect for summers to take over the entire Indian mainland.

Moreover, the Cyclone in the Bay of Bengal is suppressing any activity in East India. The entire country- except for Northeast India- is not experiencing any major weather related activity at present, which is leading to continuous heat build up across the country. Parts of Vidarbha, Marathwada, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Odisha and Telangana are already experiencing heat wave conditions. This situation is going to prevail in the country for next 2-3 days as there isn't any weather system building up

Yesterday, Khargone in Madhya Pradesh recorded a whopping 46.5°C. Read to find more-  

Places like Khargone, Chandrapur, Akola, Wardha, Yeotmal, Amravati, Agra, Jhansi, Gwalior, Delhi, Banda and Parbhani have crossed the 40 degrees mark.

Heavy rain and snowfall is likely over the Western Himalayas for the next few days. Northern plains, including Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and parts of Rajasthan, may see scattered rain during Holi (March 14), with a chance of isolated hailstorms. Farmers should stay alert, as hail could impact standing crops.
