After Delhi-NCR witnessed widespread spell of dust storm and rains this Sunday, the weather activities have come down to a halt. The following two days were rather warm with day temperatures showing rise and reaching 36.4°C on Monday and 37.1°C yesterday. Wednesday saw significant rise, paving way for return of heat wave over the national capital.
Palam observatory reported 40.2°C, while Safdarjung Observatory clocked 38.7°C, both three notches above the normal range. We do not expect any relief in the prevailing hot weather conditions for tomorrow also. Thursday would start with bright sun and rise in mercury.
According to Skymet Weather, a sigh of relief seems far at sight even after a weather system is set to approach the city . As a Western Disturbance has reached the hills, a Cyclonic Circulation has formed over West Rajasthan. Even after Delhi remaining at the periphery of the system, this might lead to some dust storm and thundershower activities by the end of the day over the capital city. Winds to the tune of 50-60 kmph are set to blow over Delhi-NCR around that time.
This might reduce visibility levels just like the last time with a certainty of hampering aviation when a few flights had to be diverted because of strong gusty winds.
The weather activity would bring some relief but a momentary one only. As the thunderstorm is likely only in the evening after the day’s Sun had already shined over the city, so no major relief is at sight from the rising temperatures.
