State of Rajasthan has been witnessing extreme heat in the early days of the season. West Rajasthan is getting crippled more than the eastern half. There is no likelihood of any major ease out over the next 10 days. Already, vast stretch of farmland has succumbed to the vagaries of nature and precious Rabi crops have literally been routed.
Prolonged absence of rains and incremental build up of heat stress is a deadly combination to ruin the cultivated farms. Day temperature have just shied away from breaching 40 degree, the least grade to announce heat wave. However, the maximum temperatures have soared to remain 8-10 degree above the normal during the last one week.
Western disturbance is moving across and will clear the hilly states anytime soon. Slightly cooler winds in the rear of the system will arrest any further rise of mercury for the next 3 days. Another weather system will arrive on 25th Feb. The induced circulation will form over West Rajasthan and bring in change of low level winds. The temperatures are likely to shoot again to remain above normal by 7-10degree. One or two places may even scale first 40 degree of the season during this period.
